About Rakshabandhan:
Rakshabandhan is a Hindu festival celebrated every year in the month of Shravan (July-August) on the full moon day. It is a day for siblings to express their love and devotion to each other. On Rakshabandhan, the sister ties a rakhi around the wrist of the brother. This thread represents the sister's protection as well as the brother's pledge to defend his sister.
History of Rakshabandhan
Rakshabandhan's precise origin is uncertain, however, it is thought to have begun in ancient India. There are numerous various traditions related to the festival's beginnings but one of the most prominent is the story of Krishna and Draupadi. Krishna was a childhood friend of Draupadi, according to the legend. Krishna rushed to Draupadi's aid after she was kidnapped by the Kauravas. He put a rakhi around her wrist and expressed to protect her. Draupadi's life was saved, and she was allowed to return to her husband, the Pandavas.
